What Is A Subluxation?

What Is A Subluxation?

Chiropractic Kirkland WA Spinal Examination

I get the question daily from our patients, “What is it that you’re looking for?” The answer is always the same - subluxations.

A subluxation is the result of physical, chemical, and emotional stressors that cause interference with the communication between the brain and every cell, tissue, organ, and system. Individual vertebra or entire curves of the spine shift away from their normal position and put tension or pressure on the nervous system causing the signal to diminish leading to weakness, degeneration, and disease. The longer this remains the more it causes our overall health to deteriorate.

Here is an important tip to keep in mind:

It only takes 2 weeks for a subluxation to cause long term nerve damage.

Every day we are faced with physical, chemical, or emotional traumas that can lead to the subluxations of the spine. That is why getting checked for subluxations at least 2 times a month is key to keeping our health instead of chasing after it trying to get back what we lost.

This is the quick and easy answer to the concept of a subluxation. It is important to understand what we are looking for at its’ most basic. This way, we understand that our health is about more than just a yearly check up to make sure that nothing has already taken hold, and how Chiropractic helps to keep us doing what we love for as long as we love to do it!

Chiropractic care focuses on healing the body naturally, holistically, and without the use of medication from the inside out. If you need help getting out of pain, schedule an appointment today!
