Holiday Red Zone Lists

As we are getting closer to the end of the year, we are all feeling the pressure to get things done that we have either put off or it is just now the time to take care of. A simple thing I do in order to know what needs to be done and when is list making.
Much like the big guy in a red suit does, I make a list, check it twice just to make sure I am not being naughty but nice, to myself! Okay, the truth is, I checked it WAY more than twice and I have several lists.
First, I make a list of all the things that need to be done. Then I take those that are related to each other on the list and make another list to make the tasks smaller and more manageable. The great thing about lists is that they organize your days to keep the stress down and then, when you get to cross something off your list, it is rewarding to know that it is completed, and you don't have to think about it any longer.
The hardest part of making lists is sitting down and getting started, but if you really stop to think about it, you are making lists in your head all the time and that takes a lot of brain power. Once you write it down you don't have to think about it anymore. You can use that brain power for other things, like having fun with your family and friends and being more present. That is the best gift of all, being present with peace of mind.
